Rail Cars Available in South Dakota for Harvest

Grain shuttle trains are waiting for orders

A delegation from the South Dakota Farmers Union met with officials from the Surface Transportation Board, and Senator John Thune’s office in Washington to talk about rail access and rail car availability, reports WNAX.
Todd Yeaton manages the Gavilon Grain terminal in Kimball, SD, and says rail cars are available and costs have gone down.

Yeaton, former head of the state Railroad Board, says there are grain shuttle trains waiting for orders.

He also says traffic has been slow, but will pick up along with harvest.
