The drought wilted the number of acres cut as part of Oklahoma's 2018 wheat harvest, reports News OK.

According to data released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service, just 2.2 million acres of the crop was harvested.

The last time Oklahoma growers harvested fewer acres of wheat was 1913, when 1.94 million acres of wheat were brought to elevators from state farms.
