One person is dead after a grain train and a tanker truck collided north of Sherwood Park Tuesday afternoon, say police.
“The collision was right on the tracks itself,” RCMP Cpl. Ken Shamblaw told the Edmonton Sun. “(The train) hit the passenger side of the cab of the tractor unit and dragged the tractor 50 metres east down the track.”
The driver of the dual-tanker fuel truck died in the collision, Shamblaw said. Both tankers and the grain train were empty.
