The annual trek of custom wheat cutters across Oklahoma's fields of waving wheat has started, says News OK.

This year, the harvest arrives amid a rare spike in per-bushel wheat prices that could benefit farmers who grew the crop and are lucky enough to get a decent harvest.

But in that typical free enterprise correlation between supply and demand, all the current listing of about $5.20 a bushel really means is that traders aren't expecting a stellar harvest in Oklahoma, said Mike Cassidy, of Cassidy Grain Co. in Frederick.
