Jimmie Musick aims to improve the future of the nation's agricultural industry

Jimmie Musick, an Oklahoma farmer, is the new president of the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG).

Musick, who's family has farmed land near Sentinel, OK, for more than 100 years, said he really aims to improve the future of the nation's agricultural industry for generations of farmers to come, including his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

"This isn't about Jimmie Musick," he said. "This is about helping our farmers. I want to do everything I can to keep the next generation (and those that follow) in farming."

Musick owns and operates Musick Farms and Cattle Co. with his wife Judy, son Tracy and wife Ronda and two grandchildren.

The family's diversified farm grows wheat, alfalfa, milo and cotton and includes a feeder cattle operation. The family farming business has expanded over the years to also include trucking and seed sales.

Musick as a passion for the next generation farmer and was past chairman of both the Oklahoma Young Farmers Education Association and the National Young Farmers Education Association. He has also held leadership roles in the Stockholders Advisory Committee of the U.S. AgBank and the National Wheat Foundation Committee. Additionally, Musick was a former board of director at the Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma for 30 years and is currently chairman of the Washita County Excise Board. He has also served as president of the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association.
