Thiele Dairy, a family-owned company in Clearwater, NE, is facing $79,000 in fines from federal safety regulators following a fatal grain-bin accident, reports 1011 NOW.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Monday that Thiele Dairy didn't develop and implement safety programs related to grain bin entry.

One of the dairy's owners, Tom Thiele, declined to comment.

The accident occurred July 9 when an auger being used to remove corn from inside a bin lacerated 52-year-old Robert Pokorny's legs.
