Montana's Wheat Harvest A Mixed Bag

About 40% of the state is suffering from drought

Great Falls Tribune's David Murray reported that Montana's 2017 grain harvest "ranges from average to catastrophic." Crops in the eastern part of the state have been abandoned and won't even be cut, according to sources. Meanwhile, in parts where hard red winter wheat and barley are dominant, average yields are expected.
