Record flooding inundated vast areas of the Midwest last week, following a hurricane-like winter storm that submerged communities and agricultural lands, reports Bloomberg.

The flooding has already caused disruptions to ethanol shipments and threatens to push up fuel prices ahead of the summer season.

On Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump approved a disaster declaration for Iowa, making federal funds available to aid in state and local recovery.
