The Newton Daily News’ Jamee A. Pierson reported that an employee of Heartland Co-op of Newton died from falling off the top of a feed body in Marshall County, Iowa. Larry Van Wyngarden was delivering feed to a pork facility when he fell from 10 to 12 feet and suffered a head injury. It may have been up to thirty minutes after the fall before he was discovered.
Local authorities continue to investigate the reason for the fall, while OSHA is conducting its own investigation as a workplace incident.
