The Daily Republic News reported on the case of William Whitaker, who pled guilty on June 22, 2017, to grand theft by embezzlement. Whitaker loaded $9,000 worth of milo from the Witten Elevator in Witten, SD, where he worked, four times onto trucks owned by Rodney Farley. The trucks then allegedly delivered it to another elevator.
If convicted Whitaker could suffer up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. His alleged accomplice will appear in court in July.
