Landus Co-op Ready for Harvest After Explosion

Last month's explosion injured two people, caused significant damage to Rake, IA, facility

A Winnebago County, IA, cooperative says it is ready for the harvest after an August explosion, reports KIMT.

The blast at Landus Cooperative in Rake, IA, on August 19 injured two people and caused significant damage to the operation.

Co-op officials announced Friday they are ready to receive grain and plan to offer as much storage space as 2017. It is expected that taking in wet corn will take longer than last season.

Landus Cooperative says the corn dryer should be available by mid-October and overall receiving speed could be up to 20% slower than 2017, depending on harvest moisture.
