Three grain elevators with a capacity of 920,000 bushels will be offered at auction Wednesday, April 18, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company conducting the event, in cooperation with McLemore Auction. The company is also accepting non-contingent offers beginning March 13.

The facilities are at three locations – Manchester, Decherd and Tullahoma, all between Nashville and Chattanooga.

Kokomo Grain Co. Inc. is selling the three sites in Tennessee to focus its operations on the Eastern Corn Belt, according to Chief Financial Officer John Sigler. "These are good facilities with established markets, and they would be a great opportunity for the right buyer," said Sigler.

Schrader is also soliciting non-contingent offers, which may be submitted March 13-16. "We will entertain offers on any combination of the facilities. So if there's an acceptable offer, Kokomo Grain might sell one or more of these ahead of the scheduled auction," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

The Manchester location is located at I-24 and McMinnville Road and has 362,000 bushel storage capacity, four grain legs, office, shop building, storage building, a truck scale and a covered unloading pit. The Decherd location, in Franklin County, has 278,000 bushel storage capacity, three grain legs, and a 10 x 70 truck scale. The Tullahoma location has 280,000 bushel storage capacity and 8,000 Bu/Hr. unloading capacity.

Schrader personnel will be available on March 1 and March 8 to provide detailed information and accommodate inspections by appointment. The auction will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Boulevard, Manchester, Tennessee. Those seeking to set up an inspection or obtain more information may call 812-890-8255.
