The Kansas winter wheat harvest is quickly wrapping up for another year, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

The National Agricultural Statistics Service reported Monday that 92% of the wheat in Kansas has now been harvested. That is ahead of the 85% harvested for the five-year average for this late in the season.

Spring-planted farm crops are also making some progress with nearly half of the state's corn now silking. About 38% of soybeans are blooming and about five percent of them are setting pods.
