Chad Smith with Bluff County News reported on the vote by members of Farmers Co-op Elevator, Rushford, MN, and Farmers Win Co-op, Fredericksburg, IA, on whether the cooperatives should merge. The members overwhelmingly voted to merge the two operations in order to strengthen the offerings provided to members. The two cooperative took time study options before coming to a conclusion that merging was best, the Boards of Directors launched a study in August 2017, that made the case for the merger after its completion. The combined cooperative will operate under the name Farmers Win Co-op when the merger becomes official on March 1.
