International Rendering Symposium at IPPE

To examine industry challenges and opportunities in the rendering industry

Will AAFCO definition changes affect your products? Does the current pet food customer understand or care about rendered ingredients? These and other hot topics will be featured at the International Rendering Symposium, held Feb. 1-2, at the 2018 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta.

Hosted by the National Renderers Association and U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY), the International Rendering Symposium will focus on challenges and opportunities facing the rendering industry today and in the near future. Renderers play a critical role in recycling animal byproducts. The rendering industry is a green, sustainable and essential part of agriculture’s supply chain. The two half-day symposium will be on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 1, and continue through Friday morning, Feb. 2. The cost of registration is $200.

Topics to be covered include: AAFCO Update and Status of Ingredient Definitions; Today’s Pet Food Consumer; The RFS: Why Should the AG Industry Care?; Oxidation and Its Challenges; the Changing Import/Export Climate; Today’s Political Climate and How It Affects Rendering; How the Ag Industry Can Adapt to Rising Social Pressure; Rendered Ingredients from a Nutritional Standpoint; Innovations in the Rendering Industry; and Rendering: Keeping Animal Agriculture Sustainable.

IPPE, the world's largest annual poultry, feed and meat industry trade show, will be held Jan. 30 – Feb. 1. IPPE is a collaboration of three trade shows—the International Feed Expo, International Poultry Expo and International Meat Expo—representing the entire chain of protein production and processing. The event is sponsored by USPOULTRY, the American Feed Industry Association and the North American Meat Institute.
