Injured Man Rescued from Elevator in Lincoln, NE

Used ropes and a Stokes basket to lower man down

Riley Johnson for the Lincoln Journal Star reported on a rare technical rescue performed by Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews at AGP Grain Cooperative in Lincoln, NE. An unidentified man had injured himself somewhere on top of the facility, above the 105-foot range of the rescue crews' aerial ladders, and the crews were forced to lower him down using ropes and a Stokes basket. The man made it to the local hospital and was treated.
