Ludlow Mayor Steve Thomas said the Ludlow Co-op Elevator Company manager indicated the cooperative might want to build a new grain bin on property west of the current grain bins in Ludlow, IL.

The Rantoul Press says the cooperative, which also operates grain elevators in several area towns, owns the Ludlow property, but part of it is zoned residential and part commercial.

Thomas said the manager wanted to know the procedure for rezoning.

Thomas said there would be several things to consider such as noise for area residents and drainage. He said if the elevator board decides to proceed, the village would schedule a public hearing to give homeowners an opportunity to voice their opinions.
