Grain Spilled in Colorado Train Derailment

Five rail cars derailed near Fort Garland

A few days ago, a freight train traveling from Colorado's San Luis Valley east over La Veta Pass experienced a derailment at the crossing of Sangre de Cristo Creek near Fort Garland, CO, where five rail cars carrying grain derailed onto their side, according to a report from Alamosa News.

Iowa Pacific Holdings responded to the Sangre de Cristo Ranch Owners Association on Tuesday that the company was aware of the problem and would be cleaning up the debris.
