Grain Handlers Investing In The People Who May Save Them

Every week more grain handlers are buying safety tubes for local fire departments

Hiawatha World Online reported on April 3 that a grant from the Frontier Farm Credit Working Here Fund paid for grain bin rescue tubes for the Morrill, KS, Fire Department, along with nine others, and provided training on how to use the new equipment.

KNIA/KRLS News’ Andrew Schneider reported a case where another donation paid off. Two Rivers Cooperative, Pella, IA, donated grain rescue equipment to Monroe, IA, Pella, IA, and Clay, IA, fire departments five years ago. The equipment was used to rescue a man last Friday, March 31, from an on-farm grain bin.
