An evacuation order for the western Saskatchewan village of Marengo has been lifted after a large fire at a grain elevator last week, reports CBC.

The surrounding rural municipality of Milton was placed under a state of emergency, but that has also been lifted.

Fire crews were called to the blaze around 11 p.m. CST Thursday.

Emergency and support vehicles were still on scene as of early Friday afternoon. According to a news release, the fire has been contained but there is no firm estimate of the amount of property damage.
