Grain Dryer Fire Near Prince Albert, SK
Canola was smoldering in unit and safely emptied out
Buckland Fire and Rescue responded with multiple trucks and 11 firefighters to a grain dryer fire north of Henribourg, near Prince Albert, SK, Sunday.
After two hours on scene, canola smoldering inside the dryer was safely emptied out, reports PA NOW.
Firefighters said the fire was smoldering inside and the concern was that the highly flammable canola dust would ignite once they opened the dryer and introduced oxygen.
Firefighters poured water down from the top to soak it, before the bottom was opened and the canola was emptied out.
