GEAPS Putting on Advanced Equipment Maintenance Class

Learn what to look and listen for while troubleshooting, and how to fix many problems in GEAPS 555: Advanced and Preventative Maintenance for Grain Facilities: Conveyance Equipment.

“This course will help you gain a better understanding of how your equipment works, and how to extend the useful life of equipment,” said Gord Braun, Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd., one of the course instructors.

Lectures start by introducing preventative maintenance plans and their importance before moving on to specific equipment, hazard monitoring and lubrication.

After finishing the course, you will be able to do a basic quality analysis of your operation and identify points where physical quality or economics are impacted. You will also have the skills to create a food safety plan and develop a quality management system.

This is an advanced level course, intended for participants maintaining grain elevator equipment. You should complete GEAPS 554: Equipment Maintenance I before taking this course.

GEAPS 555 is one of four courses required for the Specialist Credential in Grain Handling Equipment Management. For more information on the Distance Education Program, credentials or other courses available in April, visit the program website.
