Five Washington Co-ops Merging

Hope to address aging infrastructure and cut costs

Matthew Weaver with Capital Press reported on the plans of five Eastern Washington agriculture cooperatives to merge. Central Washington Grain Growers Inc., Union Warehouse Co., Odessa Union Warehouse Co-Op and Reardan Grain Growers Inc. will merge and then purchase Almira Farmers Warehouse Co.

By combining forces the co-ops hope to address aging infrastructure and cut costs. The merger with take place on April 1.
