Firm Releases Feed Mill Compensation Survey
Data is broken down by region, commercial or integrated facility, and annual tonnage
Continental Search, recruiters for agribusinesses across the U.S., has released the results of a nationwide salary survey of feed mill management professionals.
As demand grows for experienced feed mill managers and salaries rise, Continental Search, a recruiting firm with a focus on animal agriculture, wanted to provide both clients and potential hires a better understanding of current compensation levels.
In April, they conducted a nationwide salary survey reaching out to nearly 1,000 feed mill managers, assistant feed mill managers, mill superintendents, and multi-site managers. Roughly 100 responded to the survey.
The survey showed that more than 45% earn over $100,000/year and 63% of feed mill managers have college degrees.
The survey data is broken down by region, whether the mill is for commercial or integrated customers and annual tonnage providing usable information close to home.
Salary information was based on total taxable income, not solely on base salary.
“We are seeing salaries increase grow with the need for managers with more technical and business skills," says Continental Search Owner Dan Simmons, CPC.
Feed Mill Recruiting Specialist Maria Codilla who lead this project confirmed this as becoming an annual survey.
"The feedback from clients has been exciting and we are getting suggestions for next year," she says.
