Fire Crews responded to a possible structure fire on Tuesday morning at Smithfield’s hog production plant in Laurinburg, NC, reports The Laurinburg Exchange.
Crews discovered the fire was actually on the outside of the facility in a dust hopper, which is used to enhance the quality of air released from industrial and commercial processes by collecting dust and other impurities from air or gas.
Very little damage was reported to the dust hopper.
