One person taken to hospital for smoke inhalation

A Wednesday afternoon fire at the Marquis Energy ethanol plant in Hennepin, IL, was contained and quickly extinguished by multiple fire departments that responded, company officials said.

According to the Journal Star, one person believed to be an employee was taken to a hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation and was treated and released.

The fire occurred in the plant’s South Unit, one of two independent production facilities that are basically identical. The plant’s North Unit remained in operation Wednesday evening
