Fire at Texas Grain Terminal

Prompting evacuations, blaze began in a dust collection silo at Interstate Grain Port Terminal in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, TX, fire crews reported to a fire Monday morning at a grain terminal, reports the Caller Times.

Crews responded to the fire just before 10 a.m. and were still inside the Interstate Grain Port Terminal around noon on Monday.

Battalion chief Billy Belyeu said the fire was in a dust collection silo at the grain terminal, which was estimated to contain about 1,000 bushels of grain dust.

According to a report from Action 10 News, crews pulled back people in the area and moved railroad cars that were close to the smoldering fire.

There were no reports of injuries.
