Fire at ADM Grain Facility in Parr, IN

Grain dryer was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived Wednesday morning

Firefighters were called in at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday morning to deal with a large fire at the ADM grain elevator in Parr, IN, reports the Rensselaer Republican

Crews worked three hours to extinguish the fire, which had started in the dryer. By 9:30 a.m., elevator staff were checking the tanks of the elevator for signs of a fire with thermal imaging.

"When we arrived on the scene, the dryer was fully engulfed," Rensselaer Fire Chief Kenny Haunt told the Republican. "It looked like a blow torch, a big blow torch."
