An expanded educational conference for feed and grain industry professionals, Feed & Grain LIVE, will be held May 31 – June 2, at the Prairie Meadows Hotel in Altoona, Iowa. The two-and-a-half day conference will include a workshop, educational sessions and a trade show.
“People who attended our successful 2016 event told us they would like to see more educational sessions,” explained Elise Schafer, editor of Feed & Grain media. “Based on their feedback, this year’s event will provide several sessions, including information on the Food Safety Modernization Act and its impact on feed and grain facilities, grain quality management, grain merchandising, safety and risk management, human resources management, and on the potential opportunities the industry will have with emerging grain markets.”
Schafer added that the conference is an ideal opportunity for mill and elevator managers, plant managers, safety directors and other feed and grain facility management people to not just absorb a lot of vital information, but to “network with like-minded industry professionals. The conference provides a lot of opportunity to talk with each other and with industry vendors to exchange ideas.”
The opportunity to learn from industry subject matter experts and to network with other professionals formed the foundation for this important conference, noted Arlette Sambs, publisher of Feed & Grain media.
“Feed & Grain LIVE provides valuable information, what we call ‘take home value’ to help attendees stay informed and to improve their business opportunities,” Sambs said. “It also provides time to engage in one-on-one conversations with equipment and service providers. In many cases, people told us, these discussions help develop ideas for solving problems or improving efficiencies in their feed and grain operations.”
Though the event offers more educational opportunities, registration fees are the same as last year, Sambs said. To encourage early registration, the fee is $160 through April 30. On May 1, the standard registration fee of $260 goes into place. One-day passes are available for $125. A mycotoxin testing workshop, held the afternoon of the event’s opening day, is limited to 30 attendees and has a $100 fee.
