Heartland Corn Products in Winthrop, MN, the fourth largest ethanol plant in the state, experienced a dryer fire during routine maintenance on April 4, according to a report by the Mankato Free Press.

Two local fire departments responded in force, with The Journal reporting a total of nine trucks and 34 firefighters handling the blaze in total with the last one leaving seven hours after arriving at the facility.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office has stated that there were no injuries, but the cause of the fire is still unknown. KDUZ/KARP, a local radio station, has reported that a worker was welding when the dryer caught fire.
