The Old Mill Foundation announced a $50,000 donation to support the development of the Cambria Fitness Center – allowing students and community members to work toward healthier lifestyles. The new fitness center will be located at the Cambria-Friesland school, Cambria, WI, in place of the current weight room.

The vision for the fitness center started over a year ago during a discussion between John Didion and Tim Raymond, both members of the Cambria-Friesland Career Coalition – 35 local businesses and schools in the area working to build community through partnership. Throughout the past year, the group continued to collaborate, pitching the idea to local organizations and developing plans for what the center could look like.

“To better serve the greater student body, our student-athletes, and surrounding community, this donation will be substantial in significantly transforming the fitness center,” says Tim Raymond, District Administrator for the Cambria-Friesland School District. “The Cambria-Friesland Fitness Center will help to bring the community together and support a holistic, healthy lifestyle.”

The new center will offer extended hours through controlled access and will offer a wide variety of machines and workout stations appealing to all ages. It will also feature energy efficient lighting, TV monitors, and a yoga area, creating a more inviting atmosphere.

“We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to help open the doors to this new fitness center,” says Riley Didion, president of Didion. “We hope our foundation’s donation inspires other organizations to also support this wonderful effort to promote health and wellness in the Cambria community.”
