DeLong Co. to Build Grain Elevator, Looped Track
Wisconsin company wants a Union Pacific rail connection in Boone County, IL
The owner of DeLong Co. Inc. in Clinton, WI, promises quicker delivery for local farmers without any disruptive noise or traffic issues for neighbors living in the shadows of the 122-acre project’s five grain bins, grain elevator and looped rail track.
The Rockford Register Star reports Bo DeLong, owner, has submitted plans to Boone County, IL, officials, who are now considering a special-use permit, along with other requests, so DeLong can connect to the Union Pacific rail lines.
Construction of the project would begin later this year, with nonstop shuttle trains arriving in May 2019.
