For the week ending November 1, total inspections of grain (corn, wheat, and soybeans), for export from all major U.S. export regions, reached 2.84 million metric tons (mmt); up 15% from the previous week, down 13% from last year, and down 17% from the 3-year average, reports the USDA Grain Transportation Report.
Grain inspections increased as corn inspections jumped 80% from the previous week. Corn inspections increased to destinations in Asia and Latin America. Soybean and wheat inspections, however, were down 7% and 17%, respectively, from the previous week.
Compared to last week, grain inspections increased 40% in the Mississippi Gulf but decreased 13% in the Pacific Northwest.
