The New Orleans-based Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. has completed the $32 million expansion of its soybean processing facility at the Port of Indiana-Mount Vernon.

Inside Indiana reports the company says the effort will increase servicing opportunities for Indiana soybean farmers and increase product supply for agribusiness customers.

Phil Wilzbacher, port director for the Port of Indiana-Mount Vernon, says the expansion more than doubles the size of CGB's operation since it opened in 1997. CGB said when the project was first announced that a small number of jobs would be created as a result of the expansion.

The facility is the company's only soybean processing plant in the country.
