Asian Poultry Vets Flock Together for Update on Latest Health Issues

Meeting in Manila, The Philippines features poultry health experts from around the world

On 20-21st October Asian poultry veterinarians and poultry health scientists will be meeting in Manila, The Philippines to listen to experts from around the world speak about the latest developments in the diagnosis, treatment, management and control of poultry diseases. Diseases being covered include avian influenza, Newcastle disease, coccidiosis, colibacillosis, necrotic enteritis and pasteurellosis.

The first day features technical presentations from the regional and global veterinary experts within the commercial companies who are supporting the meeting as well the prestigious Asian Avian Pathology Lecture. This year’s Avian Pathology Lecturer is Prof Aini Ideris from Malaysia who will be reflecting on the recent advances on Newcastle Disease Virus. On the second day, researchers from the region will share their latest findings with delegates.

This meeting will also host the presentation of two of WVPA’s awards – the WVPA-Zoetis Young Poultry Veterinarian Award and the WVPA Merial Innovation in Vaccination Award.

“This is the third of our Asian meetings,” WVPA president, Nigel Horrox, told us, “and it has already become a ‘must attend’ meeting for those involved in all aspects of poultry health in Asia. We are looking forward to another good Asian meeting with plenty of new information and networking opportunities.”
