The former San Juan Bioenergy oilseed crush facility in Southwestern Colorado will sell at lender-ordered auction on-site at 7099 CR H, Dove Creek, Colo. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. via on-site and Internet-based bidding by Maas Companies of Rochester, Minn.
The five-year-old plan was originally a local co-op targeting biodiesel production from sunflower oil but was never purchased due to the economy. The co-op adapted to include food-grade vegetable oils, animal feed, renewable heat, electricity and wood pellets and operated until 2011.
The Maas Companies’ auction will include 70-plus lots of equipment, two buildings and ancillary equipment in either bulk lots or as an entirety. The building can be land-leased or equipment must be relocated. The real estate is in a long-term lease with Dolores County Development Corporation in the Weber Industrial Park. Buyers are encouraged to contact Maas Companies to explore land lease opportunities.
Tyler Maas, sales and marketing director commented, “The lender-owned auction offers the plant at a significant savings over the approximate $2.5 million dollars invested to design and build the facility. In this economy, an auction offers buyers a great economic opportunity in a community which is eager to welcome a new tenant.”
Potential buyers are encouraged to attend the following open houses:
- Thursday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 8 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Other times by appointment
The auction package and details of the bidding process are available by contacting the Maas Companies’ at (507) 285-1444 or on the website at www.maascompanies.com.
