On the heels of one of the most successful years in business, owner and President Jim Kafer is proud to announce that Jason Luster has purchased Koehl Bros., Inc.. Luster, an industry pacesetter, carries over 20 years in agricultural manufacturing, employed in a diversity of roles including engineering, product management, plant management and general management. He plans to continue building Koehl’s business based on the core foundation already in place: multi-faceted millwright services, design/layout, fabrication, parts and service. The headquarters will remain in Fairbury, along with the newest location in Maroa, Illinois.
“This is a great opportunity to bring the next generation of Koehl leadership and services to our customers. Jason and the Koehl team will continue to grow the vision of taking care of customers,” states Kafer, a 50-year industry veteran.
“What an honor to be able to take the reins of a business that is charging full steam ahead. Koehl’s leadership team has tapped into efficiency processes that capture man-hours, increase ROI and create satisfied customers. My main goal will be to cultivate this success,” states Luster.
Existing Koehl employee, Jeff Fjelstul, will partner with Luster and lead the new office in Maroa. He says, “Our facility in Maroa is customer-focused. We know the demand for parts and service continues to grow with the industry.”
Koehl has always been a family-centric business. It is notable to recognize Jeff Kafer, Jim Kafer's son, who became President of Koehl in 2005. Jeff swiftly grew business and function of Koehl Bros. during his short time in leadership. He passed away suddenly on April 19, 2012. Surviving are his wife Vicki and three children: Taryn, Trevin and Tori. Jim Kafer will remain employed with Koehl’s Fairbury team. All contracts and other business will remain active through the seamless transition.
Koehl Brothers, Inc. was founded in 1946 and has grown into the Midwest’s leading millwright firm for the commercial grain industry. Koehl’s design/build solutions, industry experience and dedication to value have built many strong relationships over the years, thus fueling the increased need for a full spectrum service team. Koehl Brothers offers complete design and layout engineering, tower dryer and SPPE service, elevator renovation, machinery upgrades, crane services and full service millwright work including installation, repair and on-site fabrication.
