To meet the demands of an ever-growing feed and food industry requires, at some level, the use of advanced technologies. Information collection, safety monitoring, remote/PDA tools, quality controls and automated systems all have become standard equipment for many feed processors.
The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), AgGateway and Feed & Grain magazine are curious to find out what kinds of technologies are critical to the success and continued growth of the industry and have teamed up to create the AFIA IT Innovation Award. This award is open to AFIA members only. The winner will be invited to attend AgGateway’s annual meeting on Nov. 12-14, 2013 in St. Petersburg, Fla., to compete for the overall agriculture IT Innovation Award.
Spending a few minutes to tell us how, in general terms, technology works for your company, can help both you and your favorite charitable organization.
Companies wishing to submit an application should provide the following for review:
1. A short information/application form.
2. A narrative not to exceed two double-spaced pages, which describes the company’s new e-business initiatives.
The criteria for receiving an award include novelty of approach, execution of the program, benefits of the technology, and ability to determine results (i.e. of a tangible nature).
Finalists will be selected by the AFIA Staff, AgGateway and Feed & Grain magazine. The winner will receive suitable recognition at AFIA’s Board of Directors Meeting held in May, as well as coverage in key industry trade magazines and other news media outlets. In addition, your company will be profiled in AFIA publications such as the AFIA Journal.
