Registration Open for 2013 GEAPS/KSU Distance Education Courses

Program introduces a new version of the Grain Quality Management course

Registration is now open for the first distance education courses in 2013. The GEAPS/K-State Distance Education Program kicks off the year with a new version of the Grain Quality Management course. The other course offered in January examines the causes and preventive measures for grain entrapments. Both courses begin Jan. 7 and conclude Feb. 8.

GEAPS 520: Grain Quality Management focuses on how to manage and maintain the quality of grains and oilseeds. It is one of the six courses required for the new Grain Operations Management Credential. The course introduces students to quality factors of value added grains and oilseeds, including updated information on both physical and chemical properties.

GEAPS 545: Grain Entrapment: Causes, Prevention and Rescue will examine the causes of grain entrapment, as well as prevention and rescue methods. Students will learn how to identify problem areas and the causes of entrapment accidents, with emphasis on how out-of-condition grain often plays a role.

The award winning distance education program expands to 19 online courses next year. For a complete list of the 2013 course schedule, click here.

Start the year with these two online courses to take the next step in your professional development. Registration closes for both courses Dec. 21, 2012.
