KSU Grain Science & Industry Advisory Council Names Vice Chair
GEAPS international executive vice president David Krejci takes on the role
David Krejci, international executive vice president for the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), has been elected Vice Chair of the Kansas State University Grain Science & Industry Advisory Council. Mary Waters, president of North American Millers’ Association, was elected chair. Krejci, along with International Board Chair Mark Fedje, are GEAPS’ representatives on the Advisory Council, which comprises executive leaders of KSU industry stakeholder groups.
The KSU Department of Grain Science and Industry Advisory Council foster s the relationship between the GSI Department and the grain and plant-based food, feed, fiber, biofuel and bioproducts industry.
It provides counsel to faculty, staff and students regarding the department’s teaching, research and outreach missions, as well as support for special projects such as strategic planning and student recruitment, scholarship assistance and job placement, fundraising, and promotion of the department.
GEAPS and Kansas State University produce top-quality “distance learning” courses designed specifically for professionals in grain operations and related fields. All of the courses are planned and developed jointly by GEAPS and Kansas State University, in conjunction with other partners on a course-by-course basis. In the past five years, more than 1,200 people from 23 different countries have taken a GEAPS/K-State distance education course.
