Funk, Chief Scientist, Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) has successfully evaluated the Perten AM 5200-A on behalf of GIPSA, according to the requirements listed in “Criteria and Checklist for Unified Grain Moisture Algorithm (UGMA) and Official System Compatibility”. The letter further reads: “Thank you very much for the huge commitment that you and your company have made to develop and manufacture this instrument and for the diligent cooperation of your engineering team in completing the evaluation of UGMA-compatibility.”
Gavin O’Reilly – President of Perten Instruments, Inc. – states “We are very excited to receive this letter. It is a validation of our development and commitment to the next generation grain moisture meters.”
The USDA-GIPSA has indicated that it will move forward with implementation of UGMA-Compliant technology for fall harvested grains in 2012 and spring harvested grains in 2013. The AM 5200-A is now available to both official and industry grain operations.
