2012 IT Innovation Award Call for Entries Extended

Feb. 29 is the new deadline to be recognized as a technology leader

The deadline for the second annual AFIA Information Technology Innovation Award has been extended to Feb. 29. The award, which celebrates technological advancements in the feed and food industry in today’s changing world, is sponsored by AgGateway and Feed & Grain magazine.

If technology has increased the success of your company, we invite you to enter. We would like to know how you and your company are using innovation, along with the beneficial results.

Novus International was named the 2011 winner for their AIMS technology, an automated supply chain management system that provides instantaneous inventory readings. Feed Energy Company was the 2011 runner up for the Nth Load, a data-analysis model used for operating decisions and optimization of inventory management.

Finalists will be selected by the staff at AFIA, AgGateway and Feed & Grain magazine. The winner will be recognized at AFIA’s Board of Directors Meeting held in May and will be profiled in Feed & Grain magazine and AFIA publications. Finally, a donation will be made to the charitable organization of the winner’s choice. The 2011 donation was made to the Global 4-H Knowledge Platform Project on the behalf of Novus.

Please submit the application by Feb. 29, 2012. Questions about the program should be directed to Sarah Novak, AFIA’s vice president of membership and public relations, at (703) 558-3574 or snovak@afia.org. The award is open to AFIA members only.
