AFIA Presents Pet Food Conference and Education Program at IFE/IPE 2012

Covers a variety of topics ranging from regulatory issues to the technical aspects of production


 

The International Feed Expo/International Poultry Expo is the annual event organized by the American Feed Industry Association in conjunction with the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association held in Atlanta, Ga., Jan. 24-26. During the event, AFIA offers a variety of educational opportunities to the expected 20,000 attendees, including the Pet Food Conference and International Feed Education Forum.

The Pet Food Conference covers a variety of topics ranging from regulatory issues to the technical aspects of production, food safety, marketing and use of ingredients. Expert speakers on hand include Svetlana Udislivaia of Euromonitor International, who will address domestic and global industry trends, while Dr. Dale Hill, ADM Alliance Nutrition Inc., will discuss ingredient variability. Pet food safety topics will be addressed by Douglas Marshall, Eurofins Scientific, Inc.; Duarte Diaz, Novus International, Inc.; Marty Wilder, Pet Food Association of Canada; Dr. David Meeker, National Renderers Association; and Dr. Casey Barton Behravesh, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Dan McChesney, FDA-CVM, will give a regulatory update from FDA’s perspective, and AAFCO president, Bob Waltz, will update attendees on the future of the ingredient review and GRAS listingprocess.
