CHS and CHS Foundation Increase Support of Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Program
Furthers the mission of making farms and ranches safer through education and training
CHS and the CHS Foundation are increasing their support of the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® program by 32%.
By doing so, they become a One Star sponsor of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation® (PAF).
“CHS and the CHS Foundation are pleased to increase support to assist the Progressive Agriculture Foundation in its mission of making farm and ranch life safer and healthier through education and training,” says William J. Nelson, vice president, CHS Corporate Citizenship and president, CHS Foundation.
“By educating children and their families about farm hazards, we’re helping to protect America’s future farmers and agricultural leaders.”
Through contributions from sponsors such as CHS and the CHS Foundation, the Progressive Agriculture Foundation is able to advance its commitment to keep rural children safe and healthy.
The Foundation provides training and resources to help local community members conduct one-day farm safety and health programs that are age-appropriate, hands-on and fun for rural children and families.
Since the program was founded in 1995, it has grown to become the largest rural safety and health program for youth in North America.
“CHS and the CHS Foundation have generously sponsored the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program for 12 years, allowing more than 21,000 rural youth to attend a farm Safety Day,” says Randy J. Bernhardt, chief administrative officer and executive director of development for the Progressive Agriculture Foundation.
“We are pleased to partner with CHS and the CHS Foundation to provide crucial farm safety and health education for rural youth throughout North America.”
