ADM-Benson Quinn Forms Joint Venture to Build Grain Elevator in North Dakota

Shuttle loader elevator to procure regional crops for operations, export

ADM-Benson Quinn has formed Walsh Grain Terminal, LLC, a joint venture with Walsh Grain, LLC, to build a shuttle loader grain elevator in Park River, ND. The elevator will have a storage capacity of 1.8 million bushels and the ability to load 110-car shuttle trains.

“ADM is pleased to partner with area farmers to bring a large, efficient shuttle loader grain elevator to producers in the Red River Valley in North Dakota,” said Scott Nagel, president, ADM-Benson Quinn. “The crops procured in this facility will help support regional ADM milling operations, ADM oilseed processing operations and ADM grain exports to Asian markets.”

ADM owns a 50% interest in Walsh Grain Terminal. Walsh Grain, comprised of Hoople Farmers’ Grain Company, Grafton Farmers’ Co-op Grain Company, Edinburg Farmers’ Elevator Company and Nash Grain and Trading Company, holds the remaining 50% interest.

The shuttle loader elevator will be located at 6695 135th Avenue NE in Park River. Construction has already begun, and is expected to be completed in September 2012.
