ConAgra's Scott Martin Named 2011 IAOM Operative Miller of the Year
Award recognizes active milling operatives who significantly improve their businesses
Scott Martin, director of milling for ConAgra Mills in Omaha, NE was named 2011 Operative Miller of the Year May 5 during the 2011 International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) Conference and Expo.
The award is presented annually by Sosland Publishing Co.'s Milling & Baking News to recognize an active milling operative who has made a significant contribution to the progress of his/her plant, the company, and the industry, from an operations point of view.
More than 800 people attended the 115th annual conference and expo held May 3-6 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and Hyatt regency Hotel in San Antonio, TX.
Approximately 90 exhibitors took part in the annual expo.
Also on May 5, IAOM members elected officers for 2011-12. They are:
• President Joe Woodard, Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM), Arkansas City, KS.
• Vice President Aaron Black, Wilkins-Rogers Inc., Mount Joy, PA.
• Treasurer Joel Hoffa, Mennel Milling Co., Minneapolis, MN.
Hoffa's election puts him on a track that would have him serving as IAOM president in 2013-14.
Immediate Past President Bart Hahlweg, ConAgra Mills, Oakland, CA will serve as chairman of the IAOM board of directors in 2011-12.
