The 2012 International Poultry Expo/International Feed Expo, the world's largest display of technology, equipment, supplies, and services for the production and processing of poultry, is expected to smash attendance records and welcome more international attendees than ever before.

In addition to updated expo hours, new this year is the official designation of “IPE/IFE Week,” with an emphasis on educational programs in the days prior to and following the expo. Governor Nathan Deal even declared the fourth week of January “Poultry Week” in Georgia in honor of the IPE/IFE.

WHAT

The IPE/IFE is the largest annual trade show for all segments of the poultry industry including feed milling, live production, processing, marketing and all support activities. It provides excellent opportunities for networking as well as education on the latest technological developments and issues through its extensive summits and forums.

The fourth annual Animal Agriculture Sustainability Summit is a series of presentations on operational approaches to sustainability that will help attendees identify and discuss challenges for the future. This year’s summit will focus on sustainability in lean times and feature a panel discussion with Jim Perdue, chairman of Perdue Farms, and Mike Helgeson, CEO of GNP Company.

The Pet Food Conference will feature sessions on the latest industry trends, new FDA regulations, ingredient safety issues, the Food Safety Modernization Act, third-party certification programs, an industry outlook and more.

The American Feed Industry Association’s International Feed Education Forum will feature Richard Sellers, AFIA's vice president of feed regulation and nutrition, with a briefing on the Food Safety Modernization Act, and an EPA and OSHA update by Keith Epperson, vice president of manufacturing and training. Rounding out the program will be Tim Lease of WL-Portland Systems with a presentation on selecting the right equipment for maximizing efficiency.
