The effects of an unusually wet spring continue to be dealt with across the Midwest. Bob Mercer with Keloland.com has reported on an effort to repair rail lines in South Dakota that have been damaged by weeks of heavy rain. The South Dakota Railroad Board approved funding to repair the Sioux Valley Track in South Dakota.

The line has been damaged in several places, including one bridge that was washed out and three more that have been damaged. The damage stops Dakota Sothern from operating west of Chamberlain, SD, a finical loss for the company that is still being calculated.
