According to reporting by Bloomberg News, China’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister told the Xinhua News Agency that U.S. agriculture would have a hard time regaining their share of the Chinese market once China finds other sources for crops. This statement reflects the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, where both nations have levied high tariffs against the other nation’s goods.

China is currently looking at ways to replace U.S. agriculture goods. Han mentions increasing China’s soybean output or importing for South America and Russia as options they are considering. Once China chooses another source for agriculture goods, Han says the U.S. will have to battle to get back into the market.
