The Ports of Indiana has announced strategic personnel changes aimed at supporting its expansion efforts. Doug Kowalski has been appointed as the new General Counsel, Julie Petree has been promoted to Director of Project Delivery, and Kasia Kaffenberger has been welcomed back as Billing and Office Coordinator at the Mount Vernon port.

Jody Peacock, CEO of Ports of Indiana, stated that these individuals are expected to play crucial roles in the organization's future growth. Kowalski's extensive experience in serving as general counsel across various sectors is deemed critical for the quasi-governmental enterprise. He steps into the role previously held by James Hall, who will now focus on the expansion of the Foreign-Trade Zone business. Kowalski's background includes working as an attorney with Kroger Gardis & Regas and holding several key legal positions within Indiana's public sector.

Petree, who has been with the Ports of Indiana since June 2022, has quickly become a key leader in project delivery, significantly contributing to the advancement of the Ports' largest capital projects. Her previous experience includes managing multi-million-dollar construction projects with DLZ Indiana.

Kaffenberger returns to the Mount Vernon port with over eight years of prior experience in the same location, bringing invaluable institutional knowledge that will aid in elevating the port's operations. Her diverse background includes roles in office administration, property management, and medical assisting.

These appointments are part of the Ports of Indiana's strategic plan to enhance its operational capabilities and drive economic growth through its ports.
